You won’t have to go from person to person or showroom to showroom when you work with us. Our site planners, architects, building and construction managers, and interior designers are all part of one team that works together—and with you—to build your home. With friendly and open communication at every step along the way, you always know what’s happening, and our team can give you more innovative designs, unique details, and customized features.
Step 1: Complimentary Building Consultation
Our custom home building process starts with complimentary building consultation sessions. Our New Home Consultants work with you on lot selection, guide you through the initial design process, and provide you with a complimentary cost estimate based on your selected lot and initial plans. If you are ready to move forward, we work on final design and pricing. Then, with your approval, we start construction of your custom home.
Step 2: Lot Selection
Whether you have the perfect spot in mind or want us to help you find it, our team not only knows where to look for outstanding locations, but they also have the experience to identify unique lot features.
We specialize in finding creative ways to incorporate new home design into the existing culture of a neighborhood or area and have the experience to work with your lot’s unique features to create a distinctive result.
Step 3: Initial Design
In your complimentary consultations, our team gets to know you and how you live so we can suggest innovative home floor plans and stand-out features that fit your personality, family, and style of life.
Our initial design—fully created in-house by our Old Town team—combines your prioritized elements and preferences to create a tasteful, customized new home design that fits your chosen location and your vision for a life well lived.
When the initial design process is complete, we provide you with a complimentary cost estimate that works within your budget.
Step 4: Finalized New Home Design
Our design team works with you to finalize your new home design—adding creative details, complete specifications, external house plans, and a project timeline for your custom home.
During this step of the process, the little details of your home are defined. When the final design is complete, we provide you with a firm, fixed price to avoid surprises later in the process.
Step 5: Build
With all of the details of your final custom home plans in hand, we create a project timeline and start construction on your home. Our building team and interactive project management system, BuilderTREND, keep your construction timeline on track and empowers you to be informed during the building process. A flexible decision timeline gives you the ability to see what decisions you will need to make and gives you time to make the right choice. Regular communication with your building team will keep you up-to-date on the progress of your new home and allow for you to ask questions whenever they come to mind.
Step 6: Moving In
When your custom home is complete, Old Town Design Group hosts you for a welcome party. During this time, you get a hands-on tour of your new home from the experts who built it. We’ll answer all of your questions and familiarize you with every aspect of your new home. During the welcome party, you get to close on your new custom home and we hand you the keys.
After you move in, we provide a complete home warranty with a dedicated expert on call to take care of your new home.
